What goes into the cost of Christmas light installation in Springfield, MO

By Clay, Owner, Christmas Roof Lights · Updated · 3 min read

Short answer

Professional Christmas light installation is priced mostly by how many feet of roofline you light, how tall your home is, and what you add beyond the roof. With us the lights, install, 48-hour fixes, January takedown and storage are all included, and every quote is custom to your house. Send your address and you get an exact price with a picture of your home lit up in about 15 minutes.

What sets the price of Christmas light installation?

Seven things decide almost every quote: roofline length, home height, roof pitch and access, the type of lights, what you add beyond the roof, power and timers, and what service is included after install day. Here is how each one works.

1. Feet of roofline

This is the biggest factor. We measure the gutters, eaves, gables and peaks you want lit. A simple ranch might be one straight run. A two-story with several gables can be twice the footage on the same lot. We trace your roofline from satellite, so you don't need to measure anything.

2. How tall your home is

One-story homes go quickest. Two-story and three-story homes need taller ladders, more setup and more careful work near the peaks, so they take longer and cost more per foot.

3. Roof pitch and access

Steep roofs, tight side yards, landscaping beds and slopes all add time. Most Springfield-area homes are straightforward, and we flag anything unusual when we review your mockup.

4. The lights themselves

We use commercial-grade LED bulbs cut to fit your roofline, so there is no sagging extra strand and no dangling plug at the corner. Warm white is the classic look. Multicolor and mixed designs are available too.

5. Add-ons

Trees, shrubs, porch columns, wreaths and garland are priced on top of the roofline. Many homes add one or two trees by the front walk, which makes the whole display look finished from the street.

6. Power and timers

Every install goes on a timer, so the lights come on at dusk without you thinking about it. Homes with no outside outlet near the front may need a longer run, which we note on your quote.

7. What happens after install day

This is where quotes differ most between companies, so compare carefully. Ours includes everything below.

What is included in our price?

IncludedWhat it means for you
Custom designWe plan the display around your house, and you see a picture of it before you book.
Commercial-grade LED lightsLeased for the season and cut to fit. Nothing to store in your garage.
InstallRoof-safe clips, no nails, staples or screws.
48-hour fixIf any section goes out during the season, we fix it within 48 hours, free.
Takedown and storageWe take everything down in January and store it until next year.

Why don't you list prices on the website?

Because two houses on the same street can be very different jobs. A posted "starting at" price usually isn't what you end up paying. We would rather give you the real number for your house, fast. Send your address and we measure your roofline from satellite, then send your exact quote with a picture of your home lit up, usually in about 15 minutes.

How do you get the most for your money?

  • Book before Nov 15. Our pricing changes that day, and install dates fill first come, first served.
  • Light the side people see. The front roofline and one or two trees by the walk get the most impact per foot.
  • Keep the same design next year. Returning homes go faster because the plan is already done.

How booking works

Approve your quote online and a refundable 50% deposit holds your install date. The balance is due on install day. The deposit is fully refundable up to 14 days before your install.

Common questions

Do you charge by the foot or by the house?

Your quote is built from the feet of roofline we light, then adjusted for height and anything you add, like trees or wreaths. You see one total for the season, not a running meter.

Is a two-story house a lot more?

Taller homes take more setup, ladder work and time, so they cost more than a ranch of the same length. How much depends on the roof, which is why we measure your actual house.

Can you install lights I already have?

No. We only install our own commercial-grade lights. That is how we guarantee every bulb, match colors, and fix anything within 48 hours.

Is takedown included?

Yes. We take everything down in January and store it until next season. There is nothing extra to pay for in January.

When does pricing change?

Our pricing changes on Nov 15. Booking before then locks in this season's rate for your home.
